Lisbon - The European City of the Year 2012
Academicians, friends and finalists gathered at Covent Garden's Grand Connaught Rooms on Friday 11 November 2011 to hear who had triumphed in the 2012 Urbanism Awards.
Following a summer of assessment visits, the Academy's members were invited to vote according to reports written by teams of Academicians.
The Academy of Urbanism, an independent group that brings together experts from areas related to urban planning in Britain and Ireland, decided to give Lisbon, The European City of the Year 2012 award. It was voted by about 500 academics, distinguishing a set of best urban planning practices...




Lisbon, the Portuguese capital was awarded with three distinctions by the World Travel Awards:
Lisbon is one of the top twenty World Capitals to be visited. The conclusion belongs to the British version of the American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
